Cabal Online (Korean: 카발 온라인) is a free-to-play, 3D massively-multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), developed by South Korean company ESTsoft. Different versions of the game are available for specific countries or regions, published by various companies such as OGPlanet and Asiasoft. Although Cabal Online is free-to-play, the game has a "Cash Shop" which allows players to purchase game enhancements and useful ingame items using real currency.
The game takes place in a mythical world known as Nevareth, which was destroyed by an evil entity known as the CABAL. Out of the survivors, seven "Masters" rose up, each wielding the abilities of the "Force Power". These masters taught the people, and Nevareth was rebuilt. Years later, the CABAL is plotting a return to power, and the characters of the game take up the role of heroes who battle the CABAL uprising and conspiracy.
Like many MMORPGs, gameplay centers around killing monsters, doing quests and venturing into dungeons to obtain experience points (EXP) and "Alz", the ingame currency (Alz means gold pieces). Players can band together to form a party, with a maximum of 7 characters. Extra "Party Bonus" is obtained by the members of the party, based on their contributions. [8]
Characters exist on "servers", each with its own unique name (e.g. Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Neptune). Though the North American version of the game only has 2 different servers, Mercury and Venus. However, players from different servers cannot interact with each other, and characters cannot be transferred between servers. In each server, players can create multiple characters (up to 6 per server per account). Every server has 20 channels, some with its own specifics. (e.g. Channel 20 is a War Channel- Players can PK freely through the channel). There are 4 Premium Channels - Special Channels only accessible when the premium is bought (Astral Points). There is a Trade channel (Special for Trading) and a Beginner Channel (For new players). Each server offers the same ingame content, and is split into multiple channels, among which players are allowed to freely switch. There are specific channels for certain activities, like trading and conducting war.

The world of Cabal Online is split into different zones or maps. New characters only have access to three of the available zones, but will gain access to more zones as they progress in the game. Each zone has a theme (e.g. desert, jungle and snow) and its own unique set of NPCs and monsters. In order to travel from one zone to another, players must go through the warp gate found in each zone.[edit] List of maps

There are six character classes in Cabal Online. Once a character is created, the player must choose which character class that character will assume.[9] The six character classes are: Warrior, Blader, Wizard, Force Blader, Force Shielder and Force Archer. Characters who assume different character classes will differ in several aspects, including the location they start the game and the type of weapon and armor they use.
All Character classes have 3 attributes that they can increase with points earned after a level is gained: Strength, Intelligence, and Dexterity. The table below shows the increase in attribute per point added:

Attribute Descriptions are explained as follows:
Atk: Physical Damage output for Sword Skills
Magic: Magic Damage output for Magic Skills
Def: Defense attribute of Character, reduces physical or magical damage
Hit Rate: Hit Accuracy of the Character
Def Rate: Dodge Rating of the Character
Warriors are the first ones who have mastered the use of Force and use this to enhance their physical abilities in battle. As Melee types, they are the first ones in the fray and usually the last ones to die in a battle. They can also wield two weapons. The Warriors have the highest HP in the game especially because of their skills (Bear’s Vitality, Morale Shout), and are valuable because of the party buffs that they can provide. The Warriors primary stat is Strength, which enhances their damage and increases their defense as well. Since Warriors have massive strength, they are able to wield Great Swords in battle, which requires them to hold these weapons with 2 hands. Alternately, with an ample amount of Dexterity, they will be able to use Daikatanas, cousins of the Great Swords. The damage output of the Great Sword is greater than those of Daikatanas; however, using a Daikatana enables a warrior to hit his opponents more accurately. Due to the size of their weapon, their skills take longer to execute when compared to other classes. The Armor set is the preferred suit of Warriors because of the Armor set’s High Defense attribute. The Armor set has the highest Defense bonus.
Bladers are the second ones who are able to master the Force and use it to increase both their Dexterity and Strength, allowing them to be more agile and flexible in combat. Bladers have naturally high defense rate (dodge) and attack rate (accuracy) due to high Dexterity. Bladers do not have any party buffs, however, their damage output makes up for the lack of these buffs. Blades and Katanas are the weapons of their choice and can wield one with each hand, and can either wield double Blades, double Katanas, or a mix, depending on the player’s style of play. Blades have more damage output than Katanas, but Katanas provide more accuracy than Blades. Bladers use the Martial Set for more flexibility, as the said set has the highest Defense Rate bonus.
Wizards are the third to master the Force, and have used the Force to manipulate the Elements. Wizards in this game, like in other RPGs, focus on Intelligence to increase their magical damage. They can also provide valuable party buffs, other than the fact that they have very high damage output. However, Wizards are the most vulnerable to attacks, because of the low Defense bonus provided by Martial set, which is the only type of armor suitable for them due to their high Intelligence requirement. Wizards use dual Orbs, and when equipping these items, the Wizard will be shown holding a Rod on the left hand.
Force Shielders are Wizards that have focused on defensive Magics, molding magic with high-tech equipment to summon the Astral Shield, which provides them with greater defense than their Wizard counterparts. Force Shielders are considerably “tougher” than Warriors considering all skills available to both classes. The base attribute of Force Shielders vary greatly on the style of the player; Force Shielders may focus on their “Magic” side, increasing all Magic Damage by using the Elements, and on the other hand, they may focus on their “Sword” side and use their Sword and Shield to deal damage to their adversary. If a player chooses to have a Magic Force Shielder (MFS), the main attributes would be Intelligence and Dexterity for more magic damage and dodge. For Sword Force Shielders (SFS), the focus would be more on Strength and Dexterity. Other players may choose to have the Hybrid Force Shielder which specializes on both Sword and Magic Skills, and has to distribute points equally to all attributes. Force Shielders uses both Sword and Crystal, and prefers the Armor set for higher Defense, but again this would greatly depend on what type of Force Shielder the player wants to have.
Force Archers are Wizards that have focused on Supportive Magic. Force Archers are the “support class” in this game; they can provide useful buffs (Precision – increases Attack Rate, Repulsive Armor – increases Defense Rate, Vital Force – Increases Overall HP, etc.) and also heal other characters on the battlefield. The spell skills of the Force Archers have considerably low casting time, which in turn allows them to cast one spell after another. This class also has the longest range among all classes, allowing them to snipe their enemies from afar. Stat distribution for this class is between Intelligence and Dexterity, and along with Force Bladers, this class prefers the Battle set, which provides a decent amount of Defense and Defense Rate.
Force Bladers are the Magic Swordsmen of the game. They are Wizards who have trained on both the Sword and Magic, allowing them to use the Elements in conjunction to their Sword skills. They can enchant their Blade with the power of the Elements, and have studied the elements thoroughly to use the elements’ powers and curse their opponents. This class has an array of curses that they can use which gives them an advantage over their enemies. The Sword skills of this class have the fastest casting time among all Melee Classes. They also have powerful Damage over Time skills and other curses associated with their Sword Skills. This is also the class that has the highest Critical Rate among all classes because of their Sword Element Buffs. The Force Blader evenly distributes attributes to all 3 Stats, making them an All-Around Character. They prefer to use the Battle set and use both the Sword and Orb/Crystal. This class is for an advanced player, because using this class could be a bit tricky for new players, especially when using appropriate curses for certain foes.
Each different classes have their own starting point, and armor.
Warriors and Force Shielders use the Armor set and starts in Bloody Ice, Force Bladers and Force Archers use the Battle set and starts in Green Despair, Bladers and Wizards use the Martial set and starts in Desert Scream.
Each starting point sells armor used by the starting classes: The Bloody Ice armor shop sells only the Armor set,
The Desert Scream armor shop only sells the Martial set, and the Green Despair Armor shop only sells the Battle set.
Weapons are sold across all town maps.
The only places to find Crystals and Orbs (Force Shielders, Force Archers, and Wizards) are in the Core Alchemist shop of every town.
There are preferences to the use of weapons or suits for different classes and restrictions to use them depending on the character's overall Stats.
Generally, excluding future patches that may change Weapon Stats, Great Swords, Blades and Crystal have higher Damage Output than Daikatanas, Katanas and Orbs. The latter have higher attack rate than the former.
